St. Michael's Church of England Junior School, for children ages 7-11, is situated on a beautiful 7 acre site on the edge of Aldershot which includes a large playground and a wonderful field, which plays host to sporting events as well as outside learning. The school is maintained by the Education Department of Hampshire County Council. It is a Church of England Controlled Junior School within the diocese of Guildford and has the capacity to educate 384 children. We are an inclusive school and welcome children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
The environment surrounding the school is a rich source of historical and geographical information; the Hogs Back is a stones throw from the school with the Tudor town of Farnham just 3 miles from our doorstep and of course, Aldershot itself is of great Victorian and military interest.
The school works within a network of other schools in Rushmoor and is also part of the Connaught Secondary School Pyramid. St. Michael's Infant School's site is adjoining our own and we often have joint events.
We are passionate about making children's learning real and relevant and therefore construct out topics carefully so that we can take advantage of our environment, arrange speakers and trips out as frequently as we are able.
At St. Michael's, children learn about taking responsibility for their environment and sustainability is at the heart of our philosophy. Our cross-curricular topics encourage experiential, hands-on learning and of course, our achievements in English, Maths and Science underpin the holistic curriculum.
We hope you enjoy browsing our website and can gain a flavour of the type of school we are and what we have to offer. We are constantly striving to improve and update the information we offer, so any comments would be gratefully received.
